Modifying the Splash Page

Users may also create an override for the splash page template, Splash.asp. This allows users to change every aspect of a splash page's appearance.

Since 2026.1, the body of Splash.asp is deliberately lean. Between the page toolbar and the optional translation element it contains a single empty container that the Groups Grid is rendered into:

<nav id="splash_groups" class="ww_skin_splash_groups" aria-label="Groups"
     wwpage:attribute-aria-label="groups-grid-label"> </nav>

Keep that element, with its id and its ww_skin_splash_groups class, in any override you create. The id is how the grid finds its container, and the class carries the grid's styling and its responsive layout classes. Removing or renaming it produces a splash page with no grid.

Everything else in the template is yours to change. Add your branding above the container, add a welcome message or a link list below it, or replace the surrounding markup entirely — the grid continues to render as long as the container remains.

Note: Override Splash.asp in Formats\WebWorks Reverb 2.0\Pages to affect every WebWorks Reverb 2.0 target, or in Targets\<Target Name>\Pages to affect one target. Place any images the template references in an images subfolder beside it and reference them with the wwpage:attribute-src attribute, so ePublisher copies them into the output and corrects the path.
